Gatwick location guide
For many years Gatwick Airport seemed the poor relation to London's Heathrow with a preponderance of holiday flights. Not any longer, Gatwick boast scheduled flights to a huge variety of destinations throughout the globe and ranks as one of the world's largest airports as of right.
For the departing holiday maker there are many good parking locations within easy reach of Gatwick, most of the holiday parking establishment will involve a short shuttle ride between the car and the terminal.
Many visitors arriving at Gatwick will be heading for London and they are well served with the Gatwick Express Train Service they can be in the city within an hour or so of landing if all runs smoothly.
For the visitor there are two really good ways to take in the sights of London, the traveller can take one of the many open-topped sightseeing tour buses or alternatively take one of the frequent ferries from Westminster pier downriver to Greenwhich. Either way these count as a most relaxing way to see the sights of this most majestic and imposing any city.
London's British Museum, The Science Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum, Madame Tussaud's, The National Gallery, and Tate Gallery must rank amongst the finest in the world.
Shopping in London is not for the fainthearted. From the department stores in Oxford Street to the exclusive designer outlets in Bond Street London has fantastic shopping for everyone - not forgetting colourful markets like Camden and Portobello Road for bargains galore.
The theatres in London rate amongst the best in the world. In the West End there are bars, restaurants and typically English pubs in abundance. Every possible type of cuisine is available, American, English, French and all the Asian and European varieties imaginable.
