Glasgow Airport transport guide

By Road

It's about a 20 minutes drive from the city centre, take the M8 out to the west towards Paisley, turning off at Junction 28. From Edinburgh take the M8 through Glasgow to Junction 28. From the South take the M74 into Glasgow to Junction 4, and then turn onto the M8 towards the west, leaving at Junction 28 as before.

By Rail

Paisley Gilmour Street is the nearest railway station and is located just two miles from the airport. It can be reached by taxi or by the frequent local bus service that departs from the terminal forecourt. There are frequent direct trains from Paisley Gilmour Street to Ayr and the Clyde coast and to Glasgow Central station. Glasgow's Central and Queen Street stations offer a wide variety of rail services to destinations throughout Scotland and England. Between Glasgow Central and Paisley and the train journey takes about 30 minutes.

By Taxi

Taxis are always in plentiful supply outside of the terminal, and generally charge around £14 to take you to the heart of the city. Further info. call +44 (0) 141 848 4588.

By Bus

Citylink runs the number 905 and number 901 buses between the front of the main terminal building and the centre of town, and the main train stations in Glasgow. A bus also runs from the airport to Paisley Gilmour Street station.

By Coach

National Express run coaches to and from the airport terminal from the rest of the UK.
