Most passengers from outside London will approach Heathrow on the M4 Motorway. From Junction 4 of the M4 there is direct access to the Central Terminal area, just follow the signs. Junction 15 of the M25 Motorway gives access to the M4 east bound for Heathrow Airport. From the London direction if the M4 is not convenient you can take the A4 following signs for the terminal.

Terminal 4
Take the M4 to Junction 3, turn off and follow the signs to Terminal 4. From the M25 get off at Junction 14,and follow the Southern Perimeter Road along to Terminal 4. Or you can take the A30 (from London go towards Staines, or from Staines go towards Hounslow) following signs for the Terminal.

By Rail and Underground

The Heathrow Express service operates directly from London Paddington to all terminals, with a train every fifteen minutes. The journey takes about twenty minutes. The service will be extended to Terminal 5 once the new terminal opens.

There are connecting Railair coach services from Reading, Watford Junction and Woking to Heathrow Airport.

The Piccadilly Line of London Underground serves two stations at Heathrow. One is located at the central area for terminals 1, 2 and 3, the other is at terminal 4. Trains to London run about every five minutes during the peak period, nine minutes off peak with a journey time of about fifty-five minutes.

Licensed London Taxis are available from outside each of the terminals. The journey to central London takes about an hour. Journeys within London or twenty miles of the airport are charged according to the onboard meter. Journeys outside of this area should be agreed with the driver in advance.

By Bus

There is a central bus station located in the central terminal area. All bus and coach service operate from here with connections to Terminal 4. Airbus A2 provides four buses an hour from central London to the airport.
