Liverpool Airport transport guide
By Road
Liverpool airport is south east of the city, next to the River Mersey. From the city centre take the A561 towards Runcorn and follow the signs to the airport. From the M56 cross over the river at Runcorn on the A557 and follow the A561 signs to the airport. From Warrington take the A562 to Widnes and then get onto the A561 turning off onto Speke Hall Avenue and follow signs to the airport.
By Rail
Liverpool Lime Street station has rail connections to many destinations in the UK. Passengers from the south may find it quicker to alight at Runcorn and take a taxi from there to the airport.
The nearest station is Garston, trains run to Garston every 15 minutes from Liverpool Central Station, Arriva bus 80A (and the number 108 on Sundays) runs from Garston Station to the airport.
By Taxi
The journey into the city centre is 7 miles and takes approximately 20 minutes. For returning travellers, a taxi rank is located directly outside the entrance to the airport terminal.
By Bus
Arriva run four services to the airport.
Service number 80A (108 on Sundays) and the express service 500 operate from the city centre.
Service number 81A now operates every 30 minutes from the north of the city centre in Bootle and calls at Hunts Cross railway station prior to stopping at the airport, similarly the new 32A service operates between Runcorn & Liverpool, whilst the 82A, which routes from Liverpool city centre through Aigburth has been extended to serve the Airport.
By Coach
National Express run coaches to and from Liverpool coach station on Norton Street in the city centre.
