Stansted Airport transport guide
By Road
The airport is situated some 30 miles northeast of London. From the City take the A11 and then the M11 to Junction 8 from where the airport is clearly signposted.
By Rail
The Stansted Express runs every 15 minutes during the day to and from London Liverpool Street (every 30 minutes early morning, weekends and evenings). The journey takes about 45 minutes. Central Trains runs daily trains between Cambridge and Stansted. There is also a local service that runs between Stansted and Hackney Downs.
By Taxi
With the availability of the direct rail link to the city of London taxis are hard pushed to compete at nearly four times the cost of the rail ticket and a longer journey time.
Taxis are available at the terminal and will be of interest for the more local journeys.
By Bus
Jetlink operates a frequent service between all of London's airports: Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted.
By Coach
Cambridge Coach operates local services. There's a coach service every half hour (and every hour during the night) to and from London Victoria via central London (Golders Green, Finchley Road Underground Station, St Johns Wood, Baker Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner) it takes around 100 minutes.
